The Awakening is me coming to the realization that something had to change in life. I woke up truthfully in a jail cell (first time yo, made it 30 years without a case, that has to stand for something) and realized the faults in my actions. When Evil Calls your Name - I answered. In a heap of sweat, going through Detox, reminiscing on my last dose (Cant Stop It) I realized something had to give and I pushed through the withdraw. I got released (Infamous Opps) and on DLAM you hear me say 'caught a case one but not again' which was indeed the plan. I had to push forward and rebuild my reputation. The rumors were out there but I had to Explain myself (Let me explain). By mid album I have to throw my sincerest apologies to my Fiance who has stood by me through thick and thin, why... hell I still honestly dont know. (My Promise), swearing to never let myself go down that road again. 6 Months later, Live PD along with the SAME arresting officer from the SWAT raid 6 months prior, caught up with me on a routine traffic stop (the Awakening) and I got caught up again. Needless to say, this time I was ready. Bonded out after the 36hr 'drug hold' as I had the funds on stand by - with 2 cases now I had to slow down, or go harder as My addiction to MONEY took control over the substance abuse and I found it ok because hey, I finally had something to OFFER?? (Drippin). At this point I had some thinking to do. What is the 'awakening' really about?? Me fighting the inner demons within my own mind to remain sober, and stay off the streets and hustling... and chasing my status of sobriety in honor of my fallen soldiers (Alpha Omega dedicated to JT and Jay but was written in JTs honor who od'ed about 5 months before my first arrest). By the end of the album unfortunately you are seeing the old street habits return as 'Always' says... never sober... and then in the middle of LOOKIE - OOPS. The demons get the best of me and I slip. The Real me is meant to open your eyes to my next album (a continuance of this story) and (the Awakening's follow up) however I thought it fit perfect at the end of this cd (before the Ballout release of course which is the only song on this CD with features and it is exactly what I was doing, switching my addiction from a substance to money - because it is the status of RAD vs B-RAD that I'm Stuck between by the end of this Album. This CD does NOT contain one lie, also, being that I'm not going to incriminate myself - This is Music, they are songs, and of course I want to remain true to who I am and also maybe help the next person down the Road who may have been through some of the same issues.
